Tonight, a robotic spacecraft built by a Houston company will try to land safely on the moon. The lunar lander, named Odysseus, is scheduled to touch down at 6:24 p.m. Eastern time. The spacecraft launched on Feb. 15 from Florida aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and entered orbit around the moon yesterday. The lander is also carrying 125 miniature moon sculptures made by the artist Jeff Koons. That ice could be used by astronauts who visit the moon in the future for drinking water, oxygen and to even fuel spacecraft.

Peregrine, built by Astrobotic Technology under another Commercial Lunar Payload Services contract, successfully flew into space on Jan. 8, but its mission was cut short because of a fuel leak. It failed to be the first private mission to land on the moon, but Nova-C could succeed — and so could the one after that, and many more. The first BMW Art Car was painted in 1975 by the American sculptor Alexander Calder after French racing driver Hervé Poulain brought the idea to BMW. One collector told The Miami Herald and NPR that he is interested in buying the pieces, as its breaking is part of the sculpture's story. The incident will be forgiven as the work was insured, an art advisor told the Miami Herald. The small glass sculpture, valued at $42,000, was on display during a VIP preview event for Art Wynwood when it was broken Thursday evening, according to the Miami Herald. „La jeune fille sophistiquée” a fost achiziționată în 1955 direct de la sculptor și a făcut parte dintr-o colecție privată până în 2018, când a fost vândută cu 71,2 milioane de dolari la o licitație organizată în New York de Casa Christie’s. Cealaltă sculptură Brâncuși prezentă în Top 10 este „La muse endormie”, realizată în 1913 și vândută cu 57,4 milioane de dolari în 2017, tot la o licitație Christie’s în New York. Creația face parte dintr-o serie de sculpturi „Muza adormită” care se află astăzi în colecțiile unor muzee prestigioase, precum Muzeul Metropolitan de Artă din New York, Art Institute din Chicago sau Musée National d’Art Moderne din Paris. Una dintre „muze” a fost cea care a trezit interesul Americii pentru arta lui Brâncuși, după ce a fost prezentată, în 1913, la Armory Show din New York, în cadrul unei expoziții în care artiștii europeni făceau cunoștință cu iubitorii de artă americani. Cohen a cumpărat „The Rabbit” în 2019, la o licitație a Casei Christie’s, miliardarul fiind atunci reprezentat de Robert Mnuchin, tatăl lui Steven Mnuchin, Secretarul Trezoreriei americane în administrația Trump, scrie Forbes.ro.
